The Western Province Integrated Development Plan (WPIDP) 2023-2027 builds on the New Way Forward Plan (WPIDP 2018 – 2022), as expressed by the theme of the 3rd Development Forum: ‘Review the previous plan and chart a development pathway for the province’.
The underlying objective of the WPIDP is to enable and ensure that the people of Western Province will be healthy, educated, and able to earn an income. This will help reduce poverty, thereby fostering self-sufficiency and productivity among citizens, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
This Development Plan aligns with the 4th Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP IV).

The key Development Pillars of the new Plan now encompass Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, Enabling Infrastructure, and Law and Order.
