We witnessed the handing over of keys of a significant asset to the acting CEO of WPHA, a small boat called Mv Eilleen that will replace what used to be MV Medics. The boat has been funded by the Government of Australia through the Western (PNG)-Australia Partnership we signed in 2020 and renewed in 2023. The boat is built for purpose, meeting PNG NMSA and Health Statndards for such small crafts.

It will be used to transport medical teams, medicines and equipment and even patient for the communities that live on the islands, along our coasts lines, lakes, water ways and riverine communities where the boat can be able to reach.

On behalf of my people I woukd like to thank the tax payers of Austalia and everyone involved in the delivery of this significant piece of asset for the benefit of my people.

It will go a long way in our efforts to bringing health service a step closer to our people.
